First Aid & CPR Recertification
Overview
Refresh your skills and keep your certification current with our First Aid & CPR recertification options. Short, assessment-focused sessions help experienced participants renew credentials efficiently—without repeating a full initial course.
Available recerts:
- Standard First Aid + CPR (Level C/AED) — accelerated review + skills assessment
- Emergency First Aid + CPR — where program rules allow
- CPR-A / CPR-C + AED — stand-alone CPR refreshers
- Basic Life Support (BLS/HCP) — professional-level renewal
Important: Recertification eligibility and course length vary by program/provider and province. Some programs require a valid, unexpired card from the same provider and may limit how long after expiry recert is allowed (or disallow it). Always check local requirements before booking.

- Government-issued photo ID

If your certificate is expired or you don’t meet program prerequisites, you may need to take the full initial course instead of a recert.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can I recertify if my card is expired?
Depends on the program/provider. Many require a valid, unexpired card for recert; otherwise you must take the full course.
Do I need the same provider as my last course?
Often yes. Some programs only accept recert if your previous card is from the same provider.
How long will my renewed certificate be valid?
Usually up to 3 years for First Aid/CPR and 1 year for BLS, but confirm local rules.
Is recert faster than a full course?
Yes—recerts are shorter, focused on practice and assessment for experienced participants.
What if I’m not confident on some skills?
Instructors provide coaching during practice. If minimum standards aren’t met, you may be advised to complete the full course.
